Discomfort Means Your Life Is Demanding A New You

Close your eyes and imagine what a good means to you. Though everyone may have different ideas to have a good day, the only thing constant will be the fact that your good day is highly comfortable. A good for you initially means no hard work, no nagging from any side, and no discomfort of any kind. This is how your mind is supposed to be wired

Throughout our life, we’ve heard the phrase, “GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!”. Unfortunately, as many other sayings have, this saying has become cliched. However, this saying is in one of the most important ones. We can do things that can be classified into two groups; easy and difficult. Our brains then take these actions and then easy becomes subconscious. If you undertake an easy task, you don’t need to yourself to do it as there is no mental resistance when it comes to doing easy and comfortable things. These are the things that generally fall into the comfort zone.

On the other hand, things that are met with a lot of mental resistance are generally difficult. These include things like exercising or undertaking a task which you don’t like. At times, we undertake a task of which we know about a great deal. However, our lack of willingness to perform that task makes it unnecessarily complicated. This happens because we are met with a lot of mental resistance that puts a big hurdle in our way. These are the things that fall out of your comfort zone because you know it is difficult or because you don’t want to do it. Because of these things, our brain tells us that it is uncomfortable

The thing about the “COMFORT ZONE” is that it shrinks naturally. You will find a week where you do nothing, and then you will find doing those difficult things even more difficult than you first started. Therefore, the only way to avoid yourself from becoming lazy is to push your comfort zone always. This means regularly being outside your comfort zone. To a degree, all of our lives have been tampered with by this phenomenon called the comfort zone. We often tend to choose video games over-exercising, checking social media overwork, and many other such things.

Many successful may have carried out different tasks to become what they are today. However, the one thing they all have in common is the fact that they all got out of their comfort zone. They do things regular people will not do. They make tremendous sacrifices and are regularly uncomfortable. Studying till 2 AM, waking up at 4 AM, and practising free throws, whatever it is, they are always willing to pay a price that most people wouldn’t. This happens because these people want a little bit more than the average human being, and hence these people tend to push their limits to the maximum.

Uncomfortable Truths About Life We Need To Accept

Life is not easy, but that is all we’ve got. We only live once, and we would like the most out of that one life we have. However, not everything in life is easy and comfortable. If everything seems easy, then maybe you are doing it wrong. This is true because to make the most out of your life, and you need to step out of your comfort zone. If you don’t, you will end up doing the same thing again and again. Though it may bring you joy, you will stay miles away from the level of success you are looking for. 

Discomfort is something that will be in your life at regular intervals. Distress means that your life is demanding a new you. This discomfort will eventually help you get out of your comfort zone and grow as a human being. Discomfort enables you to embrace the difficult things in life and motivate you to choose difficult over easy. Though difficult things demand sacrifices, the results are extraordinarily fulfilling and life-long. 

But before we go ahead, there are a few uncomfortable things about life we need to accept. 

  1. Happiness Is Where You Are Now

Happiness is where you are now, or nowhere at all. It’s not a new relationship, it’s not a new job, and it’s not a new car. Instead, happiness is exactly where you are in life right now. 

  1. Quitting Is Natural

Knowing when to quit, change direction, leave a toxic situation, give up on something that isn’t working, and move on is an essential skill that people who seem win at life all seem to have. But don’t quit because it’s hard, quit because it sucks.

  1. If They Wanted To, They Would

If you apply pressure, people will do whatever you want them to. However, if you’d take the pressure, you’d see what the people will rather do. Never waste your life fighting what someone would rather do. Let them go and move on

  1. Taking No Risk Is The Biggest Risk

You have to risk failure to succeed. You have to risk rejection to be accepted. You have to risk heartbreak to love. If you are always avoiding risk, you are risking missing out on life. To live is the rarest thing in the world.

  1. Call Yourself Out

The most common reason why people keep making the same mistakes is that their insecure ego prevents them from taking responsibility for their errors and their toxic traits. Calling yourself out means, you care about your future, progress, and your happiness than just protecting your ego

  1. Closure Is Your Choice

The closure is not an apology, or justice, or answers. That’s insecurity. If the situation made you feel awful, seeking closure by reopening, it is insanity. The closure is moving on 

  1. If You Are Happy Alone, You Will Be Happier With Someone

There is no type of affection that can fill the void of a person who doesn’t love himself or already. There is no independence in dependency. There is no personal security in attaching yourself to a secure person. Until you have a healthy relationship with yourself, you won’t make healthy decisions about someone else.
